The Author Behind
All Hungry Gods Wear Red

A. M. Vaňková is co-owner and the first author representing Kova Books. She lives in Texas with her wife, their shared family of two children and two spirited dogs. She grew up in Deep East Texas, a short drive to the Louisiana border, where her distinct accent still slips through—usually in the very first sentence. With a graduate background in psychology, most of her early writing took the form of research papers—including a massive thesis that rivaled this novel in length and in labors of love.

This book marks her first venture into creative writing, but her fascination with the human mind has always been at the center of her work, whether academic or fictional. And while her thesis was packed with data, she hopes this story is at least a little easier to curl up with.

She has always been drawn to New Orleans, but it was her honeymoon there that gave her the city at the heart of this story. When she isn’t writing, Ms. Vaňková can usually be found with a book in hand, crocheting, knitting, or attempting another sourdough loaf—some hobbies more successful than others, but all keeping her honest.
